things to hold.

It's quite a romantic idea, but I like the idea of having a keepsake to cherish. Like a necklace from a grandmother or bracelet from an old friend, there's just something about an intimate and meaningful gift that makes me all girlish.

I think I like the idea of keeping something that endearing close to you. Sort of like those funny "best friend" necklaces we got as kids. Yet no matter how cheap, silly, or ugly it looked, it felt like such a loving gift to exchange/receive.

Sometimes I consider buying something and giving it some meaning. In the end, it's just not the same. :)

I remember that my best friend and I used to have best friend necklaces in middle school (we're still best friends)...I always kept mine but when she eventually lost hers (and her explanation was just "I think it's somewhere under the bed"), I was a little hurt. She's a lot like a man sometimes - insensitive :P

Anyways......I can't remember where I was going with this.
