Hurry up, Thursday!
Over the weekend, I helped out with a school organization carnival, which was surprisingly fun. FSA hosted a tinikling booth (the Filipino dance between two bamboo sticks), and I'm always surprised at how entertained kids. Honestly, I think we probably had the easiest booth to set up and maintain. :)Afterwards, we went to have an intense game of freeze tag, tag, and sardines in the dark! It was ridiculously fun, and I'm so glad that we've been able to hang out much more this year.
I also just received Cubase 4 (the student edition) the other day! I was ridiculously excited, but had such a hard time installing the program. Well, the program itself installed fine, but the instruments would not load. After 3-4 terrible hours of troubleshooting, reinstalling, and searching, I finally got in contact with Eric, who recommended that I uninstall Cubase LE 4. Apparently, the few sounds from Halionone that LE 4 came with were confusing the Halionone package that Cubase 4 came with. Problem solved!!!

I'm definitely loving Cubase, and am overwhelmed with the instruments that it comes with! Although, I must admit. . . I'm not to fond of the string instruments, and prefer the ones that came in the Kurzweil. . . Either way, it's exciting to be moving from midi to VSTs, and to be able to work from home instead of the midi lab on campus!
Also, today, I'll be heading to Austin to visit Eric! I'm super excited (though worried since I easily get lost, haha)! I probably won't leave until after my classes and rush hour. I suppose it's a bit of bad timing though, since my midterms are next week, but the trip will be worth it, and I'll just have to work really hard next week to prepare. :) I figure I'll study while he's at work on Friday. . . but I do kind of want to visit some Austin friends. I guess we'll just see how it pans out. ;)
