rainy day dinosaurs

Today was fun, but unfortunately, unproductive, and ridiculously rainy!

I went out to Guitar Center with one of my friends to help her find a piano and find a mic stand. There was a ridiculous amount of people in there today! But we perused, and I asked if they sell accordions. Yes, that's right, accordions. I really just wanted to check it out! But alas. . . and no sitars, >_<. Instead, I had a lot of fun checking out the bongos, tambourines (!), chimes, and the likes, but they didn't have a xylophone, and that would have made my day. I think I'm really in the mood to pick up another instrument, but I don't think I have the time. . . or the money.

So then, we were venturing out to find some guitar stuff elsewhere (oh, I miss Brook Mays!), and ended up cruising the mall, where I found a lovely rain stick (the hollow, large sticks that sound like rain when you tilt them), gah, I love it! I'll have to add that to my list of things I'd eventually like to buy. I did however, buy these amazing dinosaur earrings I found at Hot Topic!

Aaaand, we also hydroplaned on the way out. Quite scary, to be honest. Luckily, I wasn't driving, and my friend is quite used to driving with rain. We actually managed to almost do a 360*, missed a pole, and thankfully, there was no one else leaving the mall. All's well that ends well, right?

Afterwards, we hit up a shoe store (with a leaky ceiling. . .in several places), an instrument shop (though, the lights were off. . . and there was a random kid sitting in the store. . . so we left), and another mall (and it was still raining crazily), though we didn't really do any shopping, we just needed to kill time (though I had great lemonade from Wetzel's Pretzels). We met this guy in the makeup department of Macy's who was talking about giving people a free "make-up party" (a makeover), but after doing one girl before us, he was quite cranky, so we left. Oh well. In total, I bought a mic stand, dino earrings, and a drink, so don't worry, I didn't go crazy despite the amount of places we went. ;)

We went over to On the Border to meet up with a couple of girls and have drinks and appetizers/desserts. I had a margarita strawberry swirl, I think their raspberry one is better, but I personally prefer a mojito. I only had one drink, but I came to the conclusion that alcohol really doesn't go well with my meds. Good thing I don't do this often. :)

It finally stopped raining on our way home, and when I got back, I found out I need to have the second theme song ready by Monday night. Really now. . . and I just started planning it out. . . >_<
