OMG week.
Gah! End of semester etc. makes me feel awfully busy... I feel like I have so much to do in such a small amount of time ooooor, that there are a lot of things going on.Monday was our last rehearsal for our pieces that were going to be performed. For some of us, it would also be our first rehearsal with the musicians playing our pieces (I fall into this category). The students from the orchestra class who volunteered were basically shared amongst us (with the exception of a few lucky people who had professors performing for them...). Well anyways, my piece calls for a piano, cello, and a violin, yeah? Mmmm... by the time my piece was to be rehearsed, the cellist and violinist had to leave for class...
Yes, that's right, my piece did not get rehearsed.
So now I'm fretting. They struggled a bit with the other pieces, and I was really hoping to at least get one run-through... I was, however, able to get their e-mail addresses, and ultimately sent them a brief description of the piece, thanking them, and a rough mp3 recording of what we should try and aim for... I have yet to hear back from them... I hope they get around to that message.
I'm really worried, actually. My professor had told me that my piece was so boring, nobody would want to play it, and if it was played, people would fall asleep. She also said that no one would notice the ambient track... Well... whatever, I suppose. While it might not live up to the style of the other pieces, I like the direction that my piece was taking. I really want to leave a good impression, but now that I won't get to have my song rehearsed, I'm not quite sure what to expect. Also, we never got to do a sound check, so... I'm not sure how the ambient track will end up sounding...
...
Anyways, the performance is this Saturday. OMG. Please let it work out?
In other news, I have my guitar final and concert on Thursday.
1. I haven't practiced for my final... at all.
2. I haven't practiced for the concert...
3. I sit in the front row.
I don't think the pieces we're performing are difficult, though, so I can sight read them. But the last thing we perform... well, apparently I can't sight read it and play fast enough. I've been pretty busy lately, but I know that's not quite an excuse. So... another OMG event.
Friday, we are presenting the game we've worked on for my Game Production class... soooo... OMG, I still have so much to have set up for the programmers before then...
Work at the lab has also been picking up a little, and since next week will be my last, there's quite a bit I need to finish up. Today wasn't too bad, and I worked on other stuff inbetween exporting times and etc., but man... I can't wait till next week.
Let's get through this week okay, yes?
