a series of goodbyes.
Today was my last day at Gearbox. It was quite lovely, actually, and I had lunch and dinner with the two audio guys. I'm terribly thankful for the opportunity I've had and the experience I've gained both from them and from the company as a whole. I'd love to describe how great of a learning experience it's been, but I'm sure I've already mentioned that quite a few times already. It saddens me to leave Gearbox, but on a bright note, I've also put a great recommendation for my fellow sound design classmate, Chris, to be my replacement. :) If given the opportunity, I hope that he will enjoy the internship as much as I have. <3
Despite already having dinner, I ended up having a second dinner with Julia at Panda Express. :) It's crazy to hear how much we've missed in a couple week's time, but she's been completely understanding about how hectic it's been as of late, and I really appreciate that. And it's a wonderful relationship to have knowing that even if several months may pass, I think we'd be perfectly fine about picking back up again. This is the kind of relationship that I actually have with one of my closest friends, Cheza. Despite going different ways for college and sometimes not talking or seeing each other for quite some time, we are still able to maintain a strong friendship. I hope that I can maintain great friendships with those here in Dallas as well. :)
Tomorrow, I have a lunch date with Brittany, my thyroid sonogram (haha) at 2PM, and dinner with some of my FSA friends. It's been a bit hectic figuring out times to meet with people and etc, but it's great to hang out with people before I leave.
Speaking of leaving, I still really, really need to get a move on packing. Funny story though! Yesterday, I packed my first box of items. It wasn't until I had sealed the box and etc. that I realized what I had done... my first box was filled with video games and consoles.
>_<
How silly and nerdy. It's also a bit pleasing. <3
