gestures.
Stevo and Chrystal will be coming down from Dallas shortly. For being here for almost 3 weeks, we've been rather busy. Which also seems a bit odd, because I feel like time has been going rather slowly (especially on the job front).Speaking of jobs, my mentor/old boss gave me a call the other day with a nice message about how he's talked to an audio friend to see whom he's connected with in the Austin region. Sure made me feel good. Today, I gave him a call back (after a brief rundown of what his meeting schedule is like), and we discussed briefly about jobs, life... and raccoons. Pretty good guy, I'm proud to have been his intern.
Just now, he sent me a text seeing how I'm doing, noting that I sounded a bit down when we talked hours ago. To be honest, I was a little thrown back, 1. that he could tell, and 2. that he asked. I'd like to think sound designers have great ears. Well... either that, or he's going through a rough patch as well (since psychologically, it's easier to pick out people with similar emotions). I was really touched by the gesture. :)
Maybe it's the weather, who knows, but I've been a bit lethargic, tired, and sad lately. With that in mind, I can't imagine how it must be for people with seasonal affective disorder! This morning, I woke up with GINORMOUS, dark, dark bags under my eyes. Crazy. Sometimes I'll get dark circles, but I've never seen such craziness under my eyes! They were rather puffy too... very unappealing.
But as much as I complain, I know this too will pass. But wouldn't it be nice if it'd speed up a bit? :)
My body still isn't quite ready to admit I don't have a job (which might come in handy later). I'm still waking up early enough to be ready for that 10-6+ job again. I guess for now, I'll just have to continue to work on things. In fact, you can find the latest music for Balance of Power on my online portfolio. Still some kinks and things that need to be finished, but I'm glad I'm moving forward with stuff.
Maybe tonight I can work on something new?
