Hello, Austin!

Welcome back, internet!

It's crazy when you realize how the internet is part of your every day life, thank goodness I could connect on my phone!

The move went by successfully. My family came to help me move, as well as Eric and my buddy John. John was such a trooper! He came early that morning soon after we picked up the Uhaul, and was terribly helpful in moving heavy items and provided overall jolliness (and Karen, he was on such great behavior!). My parents really liked John, and it was funny watching Eric and John joking around.

Julia made a later appearance (Karen, she has your printer! Unfortunately, the paper got boxed... sorry!) and Comet was super cute, too (he pushed my dad aside and jumped into the Uhaul!). :)

I think there are a couple people that are avoiding me, and I can't quite tell if they're angry at me or what-not. I had a pretty decent cry over that later- I really hate losing friends. I felt like if they were upset with me, I'd much rather them tell me instead of seeing me and avoiding me. But who knows, there may be other things factoring, and I hope things work out for them. I suppose the most difficult thing is thinking about how close we had become, and it was an unfortunate departure. Regardless, I'm thankful for all the wonderful friendships in Dallas. :)

The new apartment is lovely! My parents were really delighted with the area and the apartment itself! I think they enjoyed their weekend here. We also visited Toy Joy, and my dad was super amused with all of the random toys and gadgets. They're looking forward to their next visit. :)

Speaking of parents, Eric's parents also dropped by yesterday on their way to the Austin airport. Crazy to think they drove from Victoria to Austin for the airport, but then I remember that Eric and one of his sister's live here, too. :) Annnyways, we had a lovely lunch, and they stopped by the apartment to check it out.

Huzzah for parents liking the apartment!

Huzzah for Austin!

But no huzzah for unpacking. :)

I'm glad that your parents were so supportive of you this past weekend! I hope that you guys can continue to enjoy a mutual give and take. Thanks for the printer and the many side notes in your post! haha

And yes, John is quite the gentleman around parents. My parents like him, too. (Well, of course, since they're his "mom and dad" haha)
