simple things.

So recently, I've become lactose intolerant.

Does that make you sad? Well, it certainly makes me sad- I LOVE ice cream and cereal!

I started to notice it a couple months ago- pizza would give me stomach aches, ice cream would make my stomach gurgley, cereal just wouldn't agree, grilled cheese sandwiches were death, and finally, I put the pieces together. Granted, being the scientist and guinea pig I am, I tested things out (like the time I drank almost a whole glass of milk two days in a row... only to feel ridiculously gross afterwards), and sure enough, milk has become my enemy.

So this morning, I woke up bright and early munching on cereal and lactose free milk. I was a bit tentative and silly, but it definitely didn't make my cereal taste bad, and that's a plus! And get this-- I have lactose free ice cream in the fridge.

Luckily, my intolerance isn't god-awful. I still eat cheese and regular ice cream in moderation, so that's pleasant. In fact, I had frozen yogurt a few weeks back, and despite my stomach ache, I was pretty pleased.

But kind of like getting my nose pierced, you sure miss the simple things in life (like squeezing your nose and eating kolaches).

haha at first I was like, "what do kolaches have to do with nose piercings?!?"

Tonight we were playing Catch Phrase, and the word was "nose piercing" and Joanne said, "this is on Karen's face." And everyone was silent and I was horrified, thinking, "do I have a pimple!?" haha and of course some people were like..."black? brown?!" lol but finally someone guessed nose piercing...hahaha
you would have gotten a good laugh out of that one, kat <3
