fleas!

Yesterday, after many many reminders, the leasing office sent pest control to take care of our pests. I've posted before how we've been having an awful outburst of fleas, yes? Well, we came to the conclusion that since we don't have any furry pets, it must have been from the raccoons dwelling in our walls. Speaking of raccoons, we no longer hear them running around, and our neighbor has informed us that one of the smaller raccoons died in his walls.

Yes, you read that right-- died in his walls.

Apparently there was an awful smell that started to... ripen, and lo and behold, they discovered a raccoon died!

After an unsuccessful flea fogging, I hope the treatment will get rid of the problem. My legs are rather gross and splotchy now, and yesterday morning, within 15 minutes I successfully squished 4 fleas on my legs and arms. Gross? Yes, but I can proudly say I've perfected my flea killing technique.

With the spraying, I was told not to return to the apartment for about 4 hours, so off I was to keep myself busy! After running a few small errands, I ate at a small Korean/Japanese restaurant named Drunk Fish. Eating alone made me a bit nostalgic and thinking back to my excursions to Sushi Place during my freshman/sophmore year of college- and yearning for something other than what I ordered.

The arboretum area, with its shops and trees, is rather nice here. After eating, I sat on a cow (sculpture...) listening to music and people watching (though I felt like I was being watched more than I was watching, haha). It's really nice taking these relaxing moments, but I find myself to be a bit more restless and unable to relax for longer periods of time. I think it's time to start looking for that random/temporary job.

I've seen/rode those cow sculptures! =D

...also, squishing fleas between my nails was the best way I found....
