sisters.
These past few days have been great! My 3 day trip to Dallas was super packed, and I wish I could have spent more time and got to visit more people (I think that presentation threw off my plans! Too long!). Luckily, I got to see a large bulk of people on Thursday and Friday for Nico's send off to Odessa.
Around 1-2ish, Karen and I lazily went back to her parent's place to pick up her dog, Biggie, but ended up being too lazy to head to her apartment. Huzzah for 1st ever Karen and Kat sleepoverrrrr :) !!! Apparently, we talked too much, we didn't go to sleep till around 6- which is fine and dandy, except that I woke up at 9 >_<.
Being with Karen reminded me of how much I miss her and Joanne. Somehow in this past year, the three of us just magically came together. Belly dancing lessons, Valentine's Day dinners, fantastic Central Market wine, and even a spring trip to frigid Chicago (though Disney World would have been FANTASTIC! haha), this past year has been the first time since high school that I've had such warm girl friends (girlfriends? female compatriots?). And though Julia didn't quite join us on all of our expeditions, she's been a wonderful adventure buddy as well (I love having an equally ravenous adventuree... 3AM IHOP trips... check! Drive to Waxahachie for catfish... check! Austin adventure for burritos... check!!!). Yes, they're lovely. On a side note, I was thinking that eventually when I find a job, it'd be great to take another dance class... I wonder if I could persuade Joanne to take salsa lessons with me? :)
Kim also came down to Austin after my visit. I really wish she could have stayed longer, too so we could have done more than eat, eat, and eat. And while I may be ravenous for types of food, Kim is a monster quantity eater!!! On Saturday, we went to Kerbey Lane for breakfast... and she not only finished her meal, but ate a large chunk of my own! Today, she DEVOURED pork and beef ribs, turkey, bread, sausage, and soup. It's quite impressive, really. Good thing she's in softball and works out a lot... otherwise those muscular legs wouldn't be as amazing.
So I've come to this conclusion: to be my sister, you must love food.

It's definitely one of my top sleepovers ever! Next time, though, we'll have to crash at my actual apartment instead of surprising my parents, haha
This was quite an excellent post that made me feel super special <3
I love you!
Our next trip should be to the Philippines next summer, yes?
(btw, my roommates and I have been wanting to go to Austin, and we're thinking that Chocolate weekend in September would be quite excellent. We should all plan to go and have Joanne jump on board.)
