another world.
Weekends are pretty busy. It's like all the hustle and bustle that you wanted to do during the week somehow gets crammed into two days. I think Eric and I always have plenty to do during the weekend.Last weekend, there was a festival down 6th street filled with art vendors, a petting zoo, and live musicians. We also spotted the mime from the IGDA event during GDC week, and stealthily followed him... while he stealthily lost us. Mimes are like that, I guess.

Although we came during the last couple hours, we managed to see a few performances. I think I'll always be in awe. One moment, they're one of us, walking in the heat, contemplating turkey legs and cotton candy, and the next thing you know, they're another creature on stage, belting out, playing and dancing.
Later that night, we dropped by Central Market where another band was playing. They were fantastic- very contemporary jazz (with hints of folk/country/soul) and even reached out with a few jive and jitterbug songs. But they had it too, that look the festival performers had. It was as if they were encapsulated with music and enthralled in the aura of their instruments. And from my picnic table I wondered if I got up, how close could I walk before I too would be enshrouded.
Have you seen it? That look of captivation and ecstasy musicians have etched on their faces? It's as if their instrument was all that mattered, and the rushing sounds complete their being.
