Borderlands Extravasplosion!
Eric and I attended the Gearbox release party for Borderlands last Saturday at the Granada Theater. I was kind of expecting... I don't know... maybe more of a meet and greet kind of event, but instead, entered this crazy, video game showing, club-like scene!Mix Master Mike (of the Beastie Boys) was there DJing, there were dance routines, a Borderlands bad guy running around, free drinks, random folks and Gearboxers.

After finding out that somehow I wasn't on the RSVP list (despite being invited via Gearbox and sending my RSVP), I got in as a team member (though more appropriately, former-team member). I saw a lot of familiar faces, was greeted by name, hugs, smiles, and on an occasion, "INTERNNNN!!!!"
I'm glad we took a trip to join everyone!
Borderlands came out yesterday, and thus-far, I'm reading some pretty good reviews.
84/100 from Metacritic
92.5 from Game Informer
B+ from 1up
8/10 from Games Radar
There are other reviews, too, but Kotaku has a nice collection.

I really hope it does well. Like any game, it's not perfect, but I think there are some great qualities to the game. Not to mention, I know how hard people worked to drastically change this game from what it was just a year ago. Now I know the new art style isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it has much more character now. I guess just check out Youtube and compare the 2008 version vs 2009.
Anyway, check out the cool stuff we left with:

Josh got the game and has been playing every chance he gets. :) Yay! Love all the pics you posted and the nice writing. Makes me want to take a train trip somewhere even more.
Yay! I'm glad he's enjoying!
Co-op is where you'd get the most enjoyment, I think. Maybe eventually we can all play :).
