weekends of food.
Last weekend, my family came to visit. You know what that means, lots of food!
Their visit went well, and they actually stayed an extra day despite the weather. My dad in fact, told me that he didn't want to go home yet. I think they really enjoyed the food, shopping, trees, and trails. Speaking of food, we finally got to take them to Iron Works, a fantastic bbq place that not only Obama has visited, but was also featured on Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels. Kim and I shared some beef spare ribs. It was wonderful.
Another note worthy food place we visited was Juan in a Million, where my family scarfed down on their famous breakfast tacos (though I ordered something else... too much potatoes!). There was a bit of a line to get in, but I think Eric had them pretty pumped by showing them the episode of Man Versus Food where Juan in a Million's tacos were featured. Good call!
After all of the festivities, instead of driving back to Dallas separately (I was scheduled to record dialogue and etc.), my parents insisted that I travel with them and fly back. It actually worked out rather well. It was raining hard on the way back, and it's been over a year since I've changed my windshield wipers.
