Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

What are your plans? Anything special? Today I'll be going out with Karen and possibly Joanne, which is really nice, because I secretly wanted to go out today. I also can't wait until it's over so I can buy some chocolate on sale. :)

Round 2 of my interview yesterday went pretty well, I think. While I got interviewed the first time by just he audio director, this time it was the audio director plus 3 other sound guys. Needless to say, I was awfully nervous. We waited a bit while the audio director was calling people to come join, and one of the guys claimed it was like the inquisition, to which I proclaimed, "Forget it! I'm a witch!". And so began my interview. . .

I find out Monday whether I get the internship (and they will each listen to my reel individually). >_<

I met up with my dad in Frisco to eat some Vietnamese food and go to my sister's softball game later that night, and we talked about my potential internship. Dad wasn't too pleased, and said, "Excuse me? A 6 month internship? Why don't you just work on your GPA and look after you graduate?" and went on about this and that. I explained to him it wasn't quite that easy to find an internship, especially in the music/sound department and went on to explain the role I would partake as an intern, how it would benefit me, and the expertise of the people in that department. My dad pretty much scoffed a little, so I moved on to other topics. I also gave him a copy of my demo reel to listen to on his way to Kim's game (I made sure to explain they were snippets of songs, too!). I don't think he was that impressed. For a man who loves music, he says he doesn't understand mine.

Oh well. I suppose it doesn't matter, and I'm proud of my little montage of songs. I'll post up a link to it sometime when I throw it on my website. Even if I don't get the internship, at the very least, I have a demo reel I can send off now. :)

I have quite a bit to do this weekend. Editing and arranging the 2.56 GB of voice recording, creating sound concepts and music for CGEC, making a short piece for my composition class, and a test on Monday, although it doesn't sound too much, it's quite time consuming (especially with music). I wish there was no school on Monday!

Anyways, Happy Valentine's Day to all!
