Gigi says I can't drive.

My Austin trip was pretty laid back, a nice break from the weekday workload. I left after one of my tests on Thursday, and pissed off my GPS, Gigi (that's right, I named her!), when we got into Austin and I made a few wrong turns. . . >_<

Apparently, the bus drivers are on strike, so I took Eric to work on Friday, and met up with Kris! Continuing our newfound tradition, we went over to Momoko's for their amazing bubble tea. Kris bought Forbidden Love (some concoction with mango with some tea and etc.), while I ordered a Junky Raccoon. The description wasn't very helpful, just some silly short dialogue, and I was really curious as to what it'd taste like :) . Yum yum! They both tasted fantastic (I think the Junky Raccoon had vanilla and. . . I dunno), but Kris couldn't handle her Forbidden Love, so I swapped. <3

We also went to one of my favorite stores, Toy Joy! Basically, they have an odd assortment of miscellaneous toys and the like. It's fun, I promise you'll be amused.

Kris and Hello Kitty. An awesome combination!

We had a lot of fun just being silly and throwing around random ideas, thoughts, or whatever. The name Oltorf struck as as ridiculous, and we came up with great ideas for indie CD album art, random song names, and noticed this motorcyclist with short shorts and hairy legs. . .

The rest of the short weekend was spent relaxing with Eric, and eating a lot of junk food. We watched a movie, almost hit a road kill deer (scary, scary, scary!!!), and spent an afternoon at Ladybird Lake watching people and funny dogs. I adore that park, its cleanliness, park goers (who also help maintain that cleanliness. . . well, except for the dogs themselves!), and natural beauty. Wonderfully relaxing, indeed!

On my way home Sunday night, I stopped by Waco to meet up with a few buddies I hadn't seen for quite some time. Though our meeting was brief, it was great hearing how they're doing and what they plan on doing in life. Harvard, Stanford, teaching, software, lectures, beer, music, theses, I'm proud to be considered one of their friends, and I love hearing how far they've come, and their dreams and aspirations. (On a side note, we met at Starbucks at Baylor, and I came across a guy who is in my ATEC class at UTD. . . what a small world!)

The weekend went by so quickly. I felt like it was much faster than the last visit I made.

I really did miss him.
