power naps.

Rushing, rushing, rushing!

There are so many things I need to complete before the end of the semester, and a ridiculous amount of deadlines are rushing towards me. For example, the final build of our game is due next week. I mean, really? Wow! I can't believe it. . . I still have much to do for that class!

In fact, a little before 2 this morning, Patsu and Lemon came over to record some dialogue in Chinese. :) One of the soundscapes I had to make was a short song as someone is passing one of the theatres which is playing a poorly dubbed kung-fu/judical movie. I made the song earlier today, and thought it would add a nice dose of flavor to have some dialogue. Great excuse to test out my mic (and new pop shield! yay! pretty much, it helps eliminate the popping sounds that occur when you record "B"s and "P"s and the like.), and I must say, it was pretty entertaining! I'm really glad that they were able to come over and help. . . that, and of course, thank you Patsu for being random. :)

Speaking of random, I found this online, and it completely made my day.

Aside from that, my dad thought it was a great idea to sign me up for a 3 mile run. Sure, it doesn't sound so bad, right? But my knee is angry, and I haven't exercised in forever. In fact, I jogged a bit on Monday, and my knee was quite unhappy even by the end of Tuesday. With one day left to train, maybe I'll just sit around, ice my knee, and assume I can jog 3 miles. :) I suppose we'll see what happens. Sometimes I'm a bit stubborn when it comes to my dad and have trouble backing down. >_<

Going back to recording stuff, I always find it bothersome how different stuff sounds on different computers/speakers. It's quite a hassle trying to see if certain things translate well, and I am often worried about stuff I put out. It's terrible, really, when what you thought was a beautifully low instrument, cannot be heard on your silly laptop, or that subtle bell suddenly sounds like a kid hitting on pots. Really now. . .

Maybe I'll take a quick nap, wake up, and work some more before work-work. Yeah. . . today's gonna be a busy and tired day. I hope I'll get most of this done. . .

Push forward!
