wheels of fire and asians, oh my!

So today, Kim, my sister, came over to stay for the day while my parents and tito drove off to San Antonio. After hearing about Firewheel, Kim really wanted to go, so we spent a great chunk of the day loitering and eating popcorn chicken. We then had a great idea about getting her hair cut short (she has beautiful hair, but looks great with both lengths. . . she has a great face shape, I'm quite jealous!), and went home to rest a bit while she reflected on the idea. . .

After our rest and misc. activities, we had what we call a "zombie run" test (where we try and find an effective and expedient way to get from my apartment, to the car, and escape from potential danger) . Basically, we ran from the apartment (though I did lock the door. . . you don't want zombies rampaging in your dwelling! jk), down the two flights of stairs, couldn't find the car, found it, tossed the keys to Kim, who then pressed the button to unlock the driver's side (I don't have automatic passenger door locks) and manually unlocked her door while I scooted in, then started the car for us to potentially peel out of the parking lot (of course we didn't want to test that out. . . ). Of course, the downfall would be the sound of the car unlocking (b/c the horn beeps), as it would potentially attract zombies. . . assuming they weren't in the area. . .

Anyways, we did that in about 24 seconds. :)

We then drove off to the H-Mart area to visit Yogurtland, and potentially get her haircut (b/c she wanted to get it as soon as possible). Unfortunately, we couldn't read the signs on the hair place since they were in Korean, had no estimation of the cost there, and decided, "hey! let's get some asian pictures done!". But alas! We were uber confused there, too! The machines are fairly difficult to use if you are not familiar with the asian photo booths, as they are timed, and move quite quickly. Unfortunately, about 2.5 out of 4 of the poses ended up looking terrible. We tried to cover up stuff using those silly decoration thingies on the computer (i.e. my eyes weren't looking on the screen, Kim's pants looked awkward, our random stuff in the background, me not being positioned in the picture properly. . . ), and I think the guy running the area pitied our confusion >_<. Here are two that were the best of the 4.

I like this one better. :)

Twas fun, and I we'll definitely do it again!

We then visited Yogurtland, where Kim was ridiculously overwhelmed and pulled a Karen with the flavors and toppings. :) Apparently, the blueberry tart flavor was ridiculously tarty today, and she had a ridiculous amount of blueberry tart. . .
Alas!

But we decided to make it up by checking out an asian bakery down the street called Mozart (not the same as the one in Austin. . . alas!). By then, most of the pastries that we like were gone, so we picked up a few new things like some coffee bean mini bun thing, a "chocolate finger", some random strawberry thingy, and a thai tea smoothie.
Mozart:5/10

Unfortunately, I think thai tea doesn't taste great as a smoothie. . . either that, or I didn't quite like the taste there. The baked goods that we got were okay, but what really makes the place is the individual sectioned "rooms" with pull down blinds and etc. Not as cool as the one in K-town, but still nice. :)

Needless to say, Kim and I were quite tired from the events of the day. I really miss having Kim come over on the weekends, but I know she's busy and growing up. <3
