finished!

I am practically done with this semester (minus an evaluation due next Wednesday)! My last final today in music theory was quite gross, and my final project for my midi class didn't quite go as planned, but nonetheless, I'm glad that's over.

Today, we dropped by Sprinkles to buy some of their fabulous cupcakes for the Errol apartment and work tomorrow. If you haven't had them before, they are practically the best cupcakes I've had. They've been featured on The Daily Show, the Food Network, Oprah, Good Morning America, NPR, etc. etc. etc. They're a bit pricey, but a little food indulgence is always wonderful. Plus, their icing is great, and I'm terribly picky about icing!

We were rather worried that we wouldn't make it before they closed since we arrived around 6:57 (they close at 7), but a group of carolers walked in while we were parking. All decked out, they sang lovely, and I was rather surprised at how the acoustics sounded at Sprinkles; it had quite a nice, full sound.

Karen was super excited, and I took a quick picture of Nicolo and Karen before we dined on our fancy cupcakes (too bad Nicolo came out blurry). :)

Speaking of carolers, when we went to Bistro B today, there were a couple of Filipino men singing songs and promoting (is that an appropriate word for this?) their church. It was endearing, and we asked them to sing one of my favorite Filipino Christmas songs (but I never remember the name). It reminds me of El Paso and our large, large Filipino Christmas parties. I never knew how much I would miss hearing them sing Christmas carols until years later.
