"Doe? A deer? Like. . . a female deer?"
I was greeted with an empty fridge and split ends when I arrived, and now, I am overstuffed and missing 2 inches of hair. Somehow, the hairdresser transformed my request of 1/2 inch to cutting off 2 inches of hair. (Boo. . . and I was happy that my hair was becoming long again. . . )
Anyways, the rest of the Austin trip was lovely. We visited Momoko 2 times (I got an African Giraffe and Kogepan. . . the giraffe was a bit tame, but Kogepan was nice and cinnamony!), played Castle Crashers, watched a few episodes of Pete & Pete and Band of Brothers, and ate quite a bit. :)
Aside from eating, Eric and I like to frequent parks, and we stopped by this little park after eating at Five Guys (side note, one order of their cajun fries is TOO much for one person!).
It's quite a pleasant park, with a few swings, a quaint bridge, people practicing the art of tightroping, and what appeared to be a toxic oasis.
On the last full day, we checked out the other side of the park at Lady Bird Lake, and spotted a granite plaza with LED lights and crazy fountain jets. After brief hesitation, we took off our shoes and ran through it with a couple of kids. Wet, smelly, and cold, it was definitely well worth it. :)
One of my favorite places we ate at was Hula Hut, a Polynesian/Mexican restaurant. At night, the outdoor seating is lovely, with its colorful lights reflecting in Lake Austin, and the pleasant metal heater keeping you nice and cozy. We went there a couple years ago with some of our other friends from Dallas, and it was a nice surprise that it was relatively not busy. Maybe it was because we went to the park earlier, or maybe because it was the last day, but I felt very content and happy to be there with Eric (. . . or maybe I was hungry. . . jk). So Austiners, take your man/lady there for a nice, casual date. :)
The next day, I caught a ride back with Karen who was visiting a friend in Austin. On the way back, we took a detour to see our temporarily crippled friend, Julia, her un-milkable cows, and Comet.
It was great seeing that she's recovering well and seems to be somewhat sane after being stuck in her house for quite some time.
That said, I'm always surprised at the capricious weather here. Yesterday, highs in the 70s, and today in the 40s. Really now?
On another note, I get to put up the terribly cute corgi calendar that Eric got me. :)

Just so everyone knows. That was a sit-in. I was protesting basketball. ...it could have gone better.
GAHAHA "Doe street" classic! best story everrrrr
I like Hula Hut, too. I only went there once, but I ended up buying one of their ultra cheap t-shirts as a thank you for awesome desserts and food. I think we tried feeding our shoes to the ducks/geese at Lake Austin...
I swear I've seen like seven pictures of you and Eric in that pose.
Kris, it's the easiest pose with our height differences, and easiest pose for me to take a picture of the two of us. ;)
