Obama!

Where were you on Tuesday?

So my 11:30 professor moved our class time to noon so that anyone who wanted to watch the inauguration could do so, and I fully took advantage of that. I grabbed a bowl of yummy strawberry frosted mini-wheats and tuned into CNN Live online (with an adjacent Facebook application? . . . weird).

Yo-yo Ma was terribly cute playing the cello; you could clearly see how overjoyed and excited he was, but who wouldn't be? Speaking of excited, the crowd was amazingly large! What an exciting event!

Close to Obama's inauguration, Josh came in and watched, too. We were both equally excited, but worried for the safety of both the public, and also for Obama and his family. Josh also pointed out that supposedly, Obama was the most protected president-elect, which was also scary but comforting.

His speech was wonderful, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear, "We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and nonbelievers," a nice variation from King's speech that Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics would peacefully live amongst one another.

It was an exciting day, and when I'm asked what I did and where I was, I can proudly say I was watching on my desktop in my apartment. . . documenting live footage on my screen with my camera, haha.
