back.
So, as predicted, my visit was pretty busy with school stuff, but being able to visit Eric at the same time made it much more bearable. I particularly enjoy watching him working on an engine for a game he is creating. And despite the fact that I have no earthly idea what he is doing, it's wonderful seeing him work his way through crazy logistical . . . logic. :)Unfortunately, I came back with still quite a bit of work in tow. I'm also fairly certain I wouldn't have gotten through this semester properly had I decided to participate in Goodphil this year. And while that was quite a downfall, I'm glad last year was lots of fun <3. So to all of those who think I'm kidding when I say I have quite a bit to do, know that I went to Austin and worked on my stuff as well. ;)
Anyways, back to the Austin visit, Saturday evening after I sent off a freshly cut dialogue sequence to my team, Eric and I went adventuring through some forest-like area in Austin and did a little bit of what he calls, "urban hiking." I'll be sure to post up a few pictures later of course (well. . . eventually). We discovered a semi-abandoned house, random bamboo patches, a large tarantula-like hairy spider, and . . . possibly an invisible night dog. At one point, I carried around a perfectly wonderful cut bamboo stick (which would have been great for FSA), but had to abandon it on the trek back. I really miss adventuring! Afterwards, we drove downtown to eat and stopped at Hickory Street for some burgers. Mmmmm, meat! I ordered a Hula Burger, which had bacon (yum!), sauce, and pineapple rings on top of the meat. Well. . . I wouldn't have thought of having pineapple on my burger, but I liked it. :)
The rest of the weekend was mostly work work, eating a bit, and a lovely nap to top it off.
Yes, it was a nice weekend.
