friday and the future.

As our CGEC project is coming to an end, I feel more relieved than proud, satisfied, or whatever. I'm glad that it's become a playable game, though, does that count? :) I know I could have done better, or even worked harder. I suppose in the end, everything is a learning process.

In other news, FSA events are now drawing to a close, and officer nominations/votes for next year will be coming up pretty soon. I'm glad that we have a strong set of freshmen this year, so that's pretty promising for the future of FSA. Next year should be much more successful overall, since there will be returning officers that definitely have more knowledge about how to run FSA. We will be having two officers (Keith and Julia) running for president next year, and that might be pretty exciting.

Now I guess this is getting a bit political, but Julia has my vote for next year. It doesn't have anything to do with which person I get along with best, who I hang out with more, age, sex, or etc., ultimately, it's what I think is best for FSA.

Although Julia wasn't as active as Keith in the beginning, I strongly believe that she has a better grasp as to the amount of time, effort, and planning that is necessary to move FSA forward. She has done a wonderful job of following through with ideas, plans, and duties, of course with a few exceptions. Keith is a good candidate, I really do believe that, but Julia has been more actively involved in FSA, especially (most importantly?) in regards to planning, maintaining, and managing Goodphil (before, during, and after, haha). Granted, Keith is more approachable and friendly, but that shouldn't be the main assets of the president, ya know? I suppose it's more like a cherry. I guess there's also the whole thing about whether or not a grad. student should be president, too, but if he can commit the time, then I suppose I don't see it as too much of a problem. But I think it should also be about who will benefit the most (both on a personal level as well as for the group), and in that regard, I think it would be Julia. She may not plan as well as Keith would, but she has a higher rate of planning and following through. It would also be a great learning experience for her. Not only would she gain better leadership skills, but she will learn/improve her planning skills, social skills, ability to work with a team, and benefit from learning more about the Filipino culture.

Anyways, that's just a thought. Of course the officers themselves should be pretty solid too, so I'm hoping for great things.
