too fast?

This week is going by super fast!

Is it the same for you?

Our beta on Tuesday went well. Not all of my sounds were implemented, but it turned out pretty nicely (including a crumbling wall effect that I made... out of crushing paper and boosting the bass, hehe). I was invited to lunch by some of the ATEC kiddos before our presentation, and that was pleasant to get to know a few people (and of eat, too!).

Wednesday was a little blah. My prof. singled me out for 30 min. going on about how I don't understand sound and that my piece was awful. Long story short, ultimately, I don't compose in the style that she prefers, and she didn't like the intent (and content!) of the piece that I created. The piece itself is more ambient, I think, but I like its simplicity and the use of the ambient audio track. Oh well... But yeah, I'm not really sure what to do now.

Aside from that, work (x2) went well, and after my internship, I was invited by some ATEC people to eat and have a few drinks in Plano. It was a nice, chill place, actually. Non-smoking and quiet, everyone sat at tables, and they played nice indie-like music, with a few instances of Muse and the like. So yeah, it was really calm, clean, and safe? There were only 7 of us, but we had a lovely time chattin' about games (haha), bacon, and etc. A nice bunch, I think. I wouldn't mind going out with them again.

Work today was pretty tedious, but oh, well. I'm learning a bit, and doing grunt work, so it's a win-win situation for everyone. Tomorrow, I have to come in earlier at 9. Sad days. Buuuut, I've got permission to leave around 5 to see the awards ceremony for the game competition I participated in. To be honest, I don't care so much about winning, I'm far more interested in seeing what everyone else put out this year. I mean, of course it'd be nice if we won; it'd look great on a resume, and the winnings could go to more equipment (mmm... a new interface would be great). So... I guess we'll see what happens.

I also finally go around to playing We Love Katamari for the ps2. Not too bad, but I really like the music and levels better in the first one. Regardless, it's a great way to relax... rolling things up. :) Well, that and a little bit of playing Left 4 Dead. <3
