phew!
These next few days/weeks will be pretty busy!Tomorrow, my game production class has a pretty big milestone/deadline. Soooooo, we all know how that goes. I've been creating/editing/finding sounds, creating sound packages, and editing sound cues like crazy! There's still quite a bit that needs to be done, but hopefully the stuff I've finished will still be implemented in time.
I think I've learned quite a bit this semester from that class. Originally, I think I depended on the knowledge/opinion of my other sound mate (who eventually got moved onto another team). Granted, I was still the one finding the majority of the sounds and am the sound team lead, but I really needed that crutch, ya know? Someone to ask, "What should I do to this? Does this sound right?" Eventually, I realized that the rest of the team had put their trust in me, and this one person sound team was definitely possible. Of course there was quite a bit of learning, a bit of guidance, trial and error, and headphone usage.
So I came in without understanding the amount of sounds necessary, file name conventions, how to record/work with voice actors, how to use the UT3 editor (be it conversion rates, making sound nodes, adjusting volumes, cues, attenuation, etc!). . . and I didn't even own UT3. All in all, I've learned quite a bit (and there's still quite a bit more to learn). I'm really thankful that I have my internship, too, so now I'm also learning things that also deal with the same engine.
Good times.
I've also just realized that I left my dinner in the microwave. . . and it's still waiting for me. <3
So.... dinner and a bit of sleeping before class!
gooooooooo!
